Featured Artists - The Contenders
The Contenders - one of Lewes' best known bands - we love 'em. This tight four-piece combo don't so much as play the blues as ooze it (booze it? - ed), with loud and proud vocals/lead, bass, drums and rhythm/harmonica being delivered with the seemingly effortless confidence that only the truly gifted can pull off. See them in action at this year's New Year's Eve Party.

The Contenders feature Mick Hawksworth (ex-Koils) on Drums, John Collins (ex-Bad News) on Bass Guitar, Pete Messer (ex-Parrots & Crown Deads of Europe) on Slide Guitar, Harmonica & Vocals and Steve Williams (ex-Boho) on Guitar & Vocals.
