Beattie is a ‘master of powerful narratives’ (★★★★★ RnR Magazine)\, writing original contemporary Scottish folk songs while also d rawing rich influences from other roots genres. Adam uses beautiful\, intr icate\, finger-picked guitar and a distinctive voice steeped in smoke and honey to create ‘stirring folk balladry’ (Line Of Best Fit).\n\nAn ear ly break found him supporting folk guitar legend Bert Jansch at the O2ABC in Glasgow and since then Beattie has toured the UK and Europe including p laying Cambridge Folk Festival\, Purbeck Valley Folk Festival\, Broadstair s Folk Festival\, Larmer Tree Festival\, and with Band Of Burns he has pla yed The Barrowlands and The Old Fruitmarket for Celtic Connections and the main stage of Shrewsbury Folk Festival.\n\nLoud And Quiet Magazine descri bed Beattie’s latest album\, Somewhere Round The Bend\, as ‘mesmeric ’. Adam has been described as ‘incredibly beautiful’ by Mary Anne Ho bbs BBC 6 Music\, and “fantastic” by Bob Harris\, and was also heavily championed by Roddy Hart\, who featured the album as his 'Record Of Note' on BBC Radio Scotland.\n\nHis debut studio album with trad folk 12-piece supergroup Band Of Burns earned top-10 Mojo Folk Album Of The Year and 5 s tars from BBC Music Magazine\, and his collaboration with alt-folk band Pi caPica was signed to iconic Rough Trade Records.\n\nAdam has also collabor ated as a multi-instrumentalist with Birdy\, Lulu\, Michael Chapman\, Fion a Bevan\, Mikey Kenney\, Gabriel Moreno\, Leonie Evans and many others. Ad am is currently writing a new album of narrative songs based around his ex periences growing up in Aberdeenshire. Two new songs ‘Home Fires Burning ’ and ‘The Girl From The Seaside Town’ give us an exciting look at t he beautiful melodic folk songs that are to come.
