 7:30pm to 11:00pm. Standing.\n\nEddie &amp\; The Hot Rods were formed by t
 eenagers Steve Nicol and Barrie Masters in 1975 in a sleepy town just outs
 ide Southend called Rochford. Guitarist Dave Higgs was quickly recruited f
 ollowed by Lew Lewis on Harmonica and Paul Gray on bass.\nAfter a time pla
 ying the London Pub Rock circuit where they often had a certain Joe Strumm
 er and his band the 101ers as support band they were scouted by Island Rec
 ords and signed to the label in 1976 \, Lew Lewis was then fired by the la
 bel.\n\nEddie&amp\; the HotRods are credited as being the first UK band to
  be labelled Punk by the music press and in the long hot summer of 1976 th
 ey went head to head with ACDC to see who could sell out the most consecut
 ive nights at Londons Marquee Club\, Eddie &amp\; the HotRods won the batt
 le but safe to say ACDC won the war.\n\nA sell out show at Londons Rainbow
  Theatre\, with Ultravox as support saw the fans rip seats out as exciteme
 nt spilled over\, they returned the following year where they had a little
  known band called Squeeze support them on their 1977 Sell Out UK Tour. In
  France they were the first ‘Punk’ band to feature on National TV and 
 later appeared at the famous Mont De Marson Punk Festival.\nTheir first to
 ur of the USA saw them opening for The Ramones\, they toured extensively a
 ll over America alongside The Police\, Tom Petty &amp\; the Heartbreakers\
 , Wishbone Ash \,Talking Heads and even Chuck Berry.\n\nThey had 4 top for
 ty UK hit singles including a Song called Do Anything You Wanna Do which s
 at in the top 10 for the whole summer of 1977 selling 475\,000 copies.They
  also recorded the albums Teenage Depression \,the title track was used on
  The Ramones film Rock’n’Roll High school\, Life on the Line and Thril
 ler\n\nAt the beginning of 2022 the band started recording brand new songs
  for a forthcoming new Album titled ‘Guardians Of The Legacy’ slated f
 or a November release. The first single from these sessions was ‘Guardia
 ns Of The Legacy’ which was released to Radio Stations in March 2022 and
  reached Number 2 on The Heritage Chart (only The Scorpions could keep the
 m from number 1).\n\nThe second single called New Frontier made the top 5 
 on the Legacy Chart and climbs the Heritage Chart as this is written.( May
  2022).\nAfter 22 years together and hundreds of shows played all over the
  world Eddie &amp\; theHotRods remain one of the best and most exciting li
 ve bands around !
