7:00pm. Show 8:00pm.\n\nThe Grateful Dudes –\n\nPlaying the music of The
  Grateful Dead\, iconic US West Coast acid rock band\, 1965 – 95\, the D
udes explore the songs\, improvisations and jams from their vast repertoir
e\, emulating the sound\, style\, freedom and adventure of their live show
 s.  More than a band\, the Dead were a phenomenon – from precursors of
psychedelic rock in the sixties to the highest grossing US touring act in
the late ‘80s and ‘90s.  As the saying goes\, “There is nothing lik
e a Grateful Dead concert” \; the Dudes aim to capture and re-create som
e of that magic.\n\nBased in the UK\, the band members have come together
from different formations in Europe – Deadicace\, Magic Bulbs\, Cosmic C
harlies\, Shotgun Ragtime Band – and bring a wealth of talent and experi
ence to their shows\n\nThe Dudes first met up in 2015\, jamming and playin
g 3 gigs at our rehearsal studio in Leicester.  Our first collective vent
ure into the outside world was in August 2016 at ‘Turn on Your Lovelight
’ at the Brooklyn Bowl\, London.  That might have become a regular even
t had it not closed down!  2017/18/19  saw us in Yorkshire\, Earl’s Co
urt\, the ‘Summer of Love (SoL) Party’ in Kent twice\, Cockfosters and
Putney in London\, Plauen in Germany\, Devon and Bristol\, and the first
date of what was to become a bi-monthly residency at the Fiddler’s Elbow
  in Camden\, London.  2021/22 have taken us to Portsmouth\, Yorkshire\, t
he outstanding ‘Playing on the Farm’ festival in Gloucestershire celeb
rating the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead’s Europe’ 72 tour\,
and a 3 gig stint at the ‘Playing in the Band’ festival in Germany.\n\
nThe band comprises seven members\, with three drummers (but we only let o
ut two at once!).  We’ve had some changes in the bass and rhythm guitar
departments but are now well settled.  We aim\, as always\, to play the
music of the Grateful Dead with a high degree of authenticity and in the s
pirit that they embodied\n\nThe Grateful Dudes\n\n
