 m\nThe Urban Voodoo Machine came to singer/songwriter\, Paul-Ronney Angel 
 in 2002 as a fully-formed idea. He leads a band that play ‘Bourbon Soake
 d Gypsy Blues Bop’n’Stroll’. They dress in black and red. There's a 
 LOT of them. And their music sounds like a great night out in a dangerous 
 part of town. From the get-go\, The Urban Voodoo Machine has fused junkyar
 d blues and stinging rockabilly with mariachi horns\, fiddles\, sinister c
 abaret and punk rock tangos. "I wanted to play rock'n'roll music with a di
 fferent instrumentation\," says Angel\, "taking inspiration from everythin
 g from delta blues\, latin and gypsy music without losing the spirit and a
 ttitude of punk."\nThey’ve played Glastonbury\, Download\, Montreaux Jaz
 z Festival\, Latitude\, Bestival\, Hard Rock Calling and toured with The P
 ogues and New York Dolls.\nMagazines and newspapers have lauded them for t
 heir “mariachi-influenced blues\, whiskey-soaked country rags and punkab
 illy-style rave-ups” (The Washington Post) and noted that they’re “d
 rawing deep from a dirty well where Tom Waits\, Nick Cave and Dick Dale ar
