THE RIPPLE AT THE CON CLUB MAY 2019
What's the Ripple? Hopefully the start of something big!
It’s a coming together of musical talent in Lewes on the first Bank Holiday weekend in May. The Ripple is a not-for-profit event that delivers a four-day cluster of live performances and party nights under a single banner.
Participants so far include The Con Club, Rocket FM, Depot Cinema, Union Music, Starfish, Si’s Sounds, The Royal Oak, Radio Lewes and The Oyster project.
It’s a ripple right now but with a fair wind, and your support, the organisers hope to expand the concept to embrace a three-day town-wide event in 2020. This would include the classical community, ancient and modern folk and choral groups of all sizes. Young musicians in particular would benefit from an event on this scale.
The Con Club is pleased to be hosting several of the Ripple events...
SATURDAY EVENING - BLACKLIGHT + SEPIA SHADOWS
Max Mezzowave debuts his new outfit Blacklight, fusing neo-soul, funk, deep grooves, jazz and electronica with cinematic visuals to create a mesmerising live experience.
Support by favourites Max and Beth of Sepia Shadows.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON - STARFISH GOES ACOUSTIC
The Con Club's very special April/May "Sunday in the Bar" has been moved one week from the end of April to the May Bank Holiday weekend in order to be part of The Ripple and features some of Starfish's best young solo performers - Hannah G, Luna, Rosa and Theo. Not to be missed!
The Ripple - May Day Bank Holiday weekend, 3rd - 6th May 2019, profits to local causes such as Starfish, Rocket FM and Lewes Radio. See https://www.lewesripple.uk/ for full details of all the events.
