The Doctors of Philosophy play original songs from the pen of lead-singer Professor Paul Stenner. The style is a fusion: rock and folk influences mingle with West-Coast sounds and even a hint of Prog ! As a Professor of Social Psychology, Paul writes lyrics that are literate, witty and thought provoking. Some may say baffling. The result is startlingly original and strongly melodic songs - for both the mind and body.

The Doctors:Paul Stenner - Vocals, Electric Guitar, Harmonica, Dave Barnard - Acoustic Guitar, Percussion, BVs, David Bott - Keyboards, BVs, Steve Harrison – Bass Guitar, Tom Andrews - Drums, BVs

David, Steve and Tom played together in The Dayglo Pirates, the well-established Jethro Tull Tribute band. Dave Barnard is an experienced session musician who has toured extensively and even graced the stage of Later with Jools Holland.

For this show they are joined by multi-instrumentalist Charlotte Glasson on Saxophones, Flute and 5 String Violin. Charlotte has most recently played on Nick Cave’s latest album and is an in-demand session musician.

The band recently released their debut album: ‘A Kiss on your Apocalypse’ and pre-election single ‘Theresa Won’t’. Both available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and other on-line media. CD copies of the album will be on sale at the gig.
