City Food Share & Easy Skankin' presents:  A Reggae Christmas Fundraiser- Join the Easy Skankin' Crew plus guest DJs for an evening of the best in Ska & Reggae music!!!

City Food Share is a community based charity fundraising platform supporting food banks and homeless shelters in Brighton and Hove. We help provide hot meals, living essentials and food shopping for vulnerable people and families. We are currently fundraising for 9 food banks and homeless shelters and every penny raised at this event will be used directly to support those in need.

Easy Skankin’ are a collective of some of the best Reggae DJs in Brighton. All have impressive backgrounds, which when bought together promises to uplift your soul as you skank to the sounds of Ska, Rocksteady, Roots, Rubadub and Dancehall!

General Legsta is a strictly vinyl selector, who started his career at the legendary Volks Tavern with Killer Riddim throughout the early 90’s. He gained a reputation for mixing and scratching dancehall in the style of a Hip-Hop turntablist. He has DJed all across the south coast and even at Nottinghill Carnival. Legsta has a weekly radio show on 1BTN and has worked on Brighton Festival Radio and Freedom FM.

DJ Felix plays for the legendary Brixton based Sir Coxsone Outernational Sound System. He regularly tours the world and plays alongside sound systems like Channel 1, Mad Professor, Aba Shanti & Iration Steppas.
He also started at the Volks Tavern at the age of 18, where he played for 15 years. He has held residences at The Pressure Point, Riki Tiks, The Richmond and with Global Beats promotions supporting artists like Maxi Priest, Eek a Mouse, Max Romeo, Horace Andy and many more. He also has a radio show on 1BTN.

Rocky Manners is a London based selector with over 40 years experience. He started at the age of 8 playing at his parent’s blues parties. At the age of 15, he built his own sound system and began playing at a local church hall.
Since then he has played for sounds like Youth Ambassador, Intrepid, Supertones and Paddington Terrors. He too plays strictly vinyl and has toured with his box of records all around the UK, Italy, Washington DC and Nigeria.

Kitty is an upcoming selector with a love for the old school Trojan sound. Strictly vinyl, she’s got an impressive collection of reggae, ska and rocksteady in her collection which she also airs on her 1BTN radio show, Playtime.

This is a chance to support and give to a great cause while skanking and enjoying the vibes!!! 7pm - 12am - £3 Entry (All profits go to City Food Share Charity)
