The Con Club

Welcome to Lewes Con Club, a private, mainly volunteer-run, not-for-profit social club and live entertainment venue, open every day to its members and non-members.

The Con Club barSituated in the centre of the beautiful historic town of Lewes, county town of East Sussex, with its easy access to and from the city of Brighton and Hove and a direct rail link to London, Lewes Con Club consists of a large bar area, opening up to a function room with a professional music stage. Beyond the bar is a spacious garden and barbeque area.

The Con Club's CAMRA award winning bar is managed to a high standard with real ales, featuring guest ales and of course our local Harveys Best Bitter, plus other beers, lagers, ciders, wines and spirits.

Next to the bar is the function room for music, meetings and live entertainment that can seat up to 150 people. The room includes a fully equipped sound stage with digital mixing desk and a professional lighting system suitable for music and other events.

Members can hire the function room for private parties, meetings etc. The club also has a professionally equipped kitchen able to cater for parties and other events.

The Con Club stageThere are regular live music events on Friday nights, most of which are free to club members. There are also frequent live music events on other days of the week and on the last Sunday afternoon of each month there is 'Music in the Bar'. Non-members are welcome on all music nights and Sunday afternoons. There are also regular comedy and other events. Please note that some events do have an entrance fee.

There are other regular evening sessions such as Lewes Lewkulele on Mondays (see www.lewkulele.org) and Lindy Hop on Tuesdays (see www.sussexswing.co.uk).

Socialising, drinking, talking, laughing, listening, watching, dancing - it's all right here at Lewes Con Club. Come and join us.

CHRISTMAS SHOW WITH ARTHUR SMITH , MARK DOLAN, FRAN KISLING AND MORE

We welcome back Fat Belly Jones for their Con Club Christmas gig.

Then we have our first Charity Gig . It's an afternoon gig, 1 pm - 4.30 pm, with Starfish's amazing junior bands showing us how it's done.

Following on straight after the Starfish afternoon, we have a real treat - Just Floyd! This exceptional band is universally regarded as one of the UK's most authentic live Pink Floyd tributes, with an expertly crafted sound that's reminiscent of the classic 70’s Golden Floyd era. You can reserve your place for this gig - it promises to be a full-house! Don't risk missing it.

Our second Charity Gig is  organised by City Food Share & Easy Skankin'. All profits go to the City Food Share Charity.

Ben and Shazza are back to continue the Christmas festivities, bringing the best Disco, Daft Funk and Dance tunes.

Yes, it's here once again. The Kondoms annual festive bash at the Con Club. Come along and have a rocking good time with all your chums. YOU WOULD BE MAD TO MISS IT!!!

And then, if all that weren't enough.... there's the club's annual Club Christmas Draw with lots of great prizes! Buy a square for just £1 now available behind the bar to enter. Plus, we're going to be treated to TWO great musical performances this special "Sundays in the Bar" gig. It all starts with Kate & Co. at 3:30 pm, the Christmas Draw will follow at about 4:30 pm and then the Contenders will entertain with their acoustic set for the rest of the afternoon.

And last but by no means least we have...

Xmas madness with Buffo's Wake and Oh Mama LIVE - Cooking up a storm with a night of raucous Gypsy Punk and Psychedelic Blues Rock. Hold on to your mince pies, these two acts are no turkeys.

Function Room

Club Members can hire the function room for parties, meetings and other events, especially on Saturday evenings. Rates are very reasonable and we can provide all sorts of additional resources to make your evening go with a swing!
