The Con Club

Welcome to Lewes Con Club, a privately run, not-for-profit social club, open every day to its members and non-members.

Con Club GardenSituated in the centre of the beautiful historic town of Lewes, county town of East Sussex, with easy access to and from the city of Brighton and Hove, Lewes Con Club consists of a large bar area, opening up to a function room with a professional music stage. Out back is a spacious garden area.

The Con Club's CAMRA award winning bar is managed to a high standard with real ales, featuring guest ales and of course Harveys Best Bitter, plus other beers, lagers, ciders, wines and spirits.

Adjacent to the bar is a function room for music, meetings and live entertainment that can seat up to 100 people. The room includes a fully equipped sound stage with digital mixing desk and a professional lighting system suitable for music and other events.

Members can hire the function room for private parties, meetings etc. The club also has a professionally equipped kitchen able to cater for parties and other events.

Con Club Function RoomThere are regular live music events on Friday nights most of which are free to Club members. There are also live music events on some Saturdays and Sunday afternoons. Non-members are welcome on all music nights. There are also regular comedy and other events. Some events do have an entrance fee.

There are other regular evening sessions such as Lewes Lewkulele on Mondays (see www.lewkulele.org) and Lindy Hop on Tuesdays (see www.sussexswing.co.uk).

Socialising, drinking, talking, laughing, listening, watching, dancing - it's all here at the Con Club. Come along and join us.

contenders web 2017STOP PRESS!

Our next 'Sundays in the Bar' afternoon is on Sunday 26th November when local favourites the Contenders will be performing unplugged for a great afternoon's free entertainment. That's from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. In the evening excellent godfathers of British punk UK SUBS will be playing at club (a ticketed event) - why not make a day of it and stay on - it'll cost you but you won't regret it!

PLEASE NOTE: The times are slightly different from usual because of the evening bands' sound-check (there are two bands on the bill). Please come for 3:30 rather than 4:00 pm. Thanks.

Also, advance notice of what's happening in the bar in December. There's no 'Sunday in the Bar' at the end of the month, but... there's the club's Christmas Draw on Sunday 10th December with free entertainment from the combined forces of Kevin Whately (the man with the Golden Voice), Kate Turvey (Market Street Band), Pete Messer (Contenders), Andy Thomas (bass) and John Marsh (guitar). Don't miss it!
