STOP PRESS! - On Sunday 24th September we re-launched our music in the bar on Sunday afternoons and it was a great success. Initially once a month, "Sundays in the Bar" will be on the last Sunday of each month from 4 to 6 pm with free entry for all and will feature a truly eclectic mix of music. On Sunday 29th October we're honoured to have our hero Steve 'Snips' Parsons from Sharks performing in a solo role, possibly joined by a friend or two on some of the songs. This really will be an afternoon not to be missed - be there!
For those of you who don't know...
Along with legendary guitarist Chris Spedding and the late Andy Fraser of Free, Steve was a founder member of Sharks back in 1971. After the band folded, Steve spent the next three years touring and recording with drum legend Ginger Baker. He went on to release two solo albums in the late seventies then retired from performance in 1982. He spent the next 25 years working in the worlds of television and film, composing, writing, directing and producing. But in 2015 Sharks hit the road again and the band has performed several times in Lewes, including here at the Con Club.
A film of the Sharks story, produced by Steve and Chris, called "One Last Thrill" is currently in the making.
