Welcome to Lewes Con Club, a private, mainly volunteer-run, not-for-profit social club and live entertainment venue, open every day to its members and non-members.
Situated in the centre of the beautiful historic town of Lewes, county town of East Sussex, with its easy access to and from the city of Brighton and Hove and a direct rail link to London, Lewes Con Club consists of a large bar area, opening up to a function room with a professional music stage. Beyond the bar is a spacious garden and barbeque area.
The Con Club's CAMRA award winning bar is managed to a high standard with real ales, featuring guest ales and of course our local Harveys Best Bitter, plus other beers, lagers, ciders, wines and spirits.
Next to the bar is the function room for music, meetings and live entertainment that can seat up to 150 people. The room includes a fully equipped sound stage with digital mixing desk and a professional lighting system suitable for music and other events.
Members can hire the function room for private parties, meetings etc. The club also has a professionally equipped kitchen able to cater for parties and other events.
There are regular live music events on Friday nights, most of which are free to club members. There are also frequent live music events on other days of the week and on the last Sunday afternoon of each month there is 'Music in the Bar'. Non-members are welcome on all music nights and Sunday afternoons. There are also regular comedy and other events. Please note that some events do have an entrance fee.
Socialising, drinking, talking, laughing, listening, watching, dancing - it's all right here at Lewes Con Club. Come and join us.
What's the Ripple? Hopefully the start of something big!
It’s a coming together of musical talent in Lewes on the first Bank Holiday weekend in May. The Ripple is a not-for-profit event that delivers a four-day cluster of live performances and party nights under a single banner.
Participants so far include The Con Club, Rocket FM, Depot Cinema, Union Music, Starfish, Si’s Sounds, The Royal Oak, Radio Lewes ,The Oyster project and The Lewes Railway Land Wildlife Trust.
It’s a ripple right now but with a fair wind, and your support, the organisers hope to expand the concept to embrace a three-day town-wide event in 2020. This would include the classical community, ancient and modern folk and choral groups of all sizes. Young musicians in particular would benefit from an event on this scale.
