CLARIFICATION OF MEMBERS' PRIVILEGES ON BAND NIGHTS
The committee is aware of members' concerns regarding ticketed gig nights where free entry for members is not advertised or a discount is not offered. A particular concern is members missing out on those that sell out very quickly.
The committee is also aware that we need to know, and therefore limit, the number of people attending a gig for Health & Safety and Fire Regulations reasons. It has therefore devised a policy which, it is hoped, will be fairer to members and allow them access to discounted tickets for premium gigs. We will introduce this on gigs in the new membership year and they will be advertised in the club.
The policy on members' access is as follows:
The Club aims to ensure that Friday night gigs will be free to members, however we reserve the right to make exceptions and to charge when necessary. These exceptions will be clearly publicised.
On other gig nights where there is an entry fee, a number of discounted tickets will be available for members only behind the bar. These will be available prior to the gig evening, or on the night subject to availability. Tickets are limited to 1 per member on production of a valid membership card.
All non-members and members’ guests must have a valid ticket on paying gig nights.
We reserve the right to limit the numbers of persons attending any gig both for the benefit of the audience, our duty of care to our staff and on grounds of Health and Safety Concerns and Fire Safety Regulations.
Subject to the above, no member will be refused entry to the bar, but this right does not entitle a member to free attendance at a ticketed event that may be taking place in the function room.
The standard procedure is that if you are a member you will receive a renewal form in the post during June. All you have to do to renew your membership is return your completed form to the club together with the correct fee and retain your personalised Membership Discount Card which will be recharged when you next visit the club.
2019-2020 renewals under 65 years were £30 - 65 years and over £15 - no change from the previous year.
If you do not renew your membership, your Discount Card will expire at the end of June.
After the deadline for renewals your membership will be deemed to have lapsed, but please retain your Discount Card if you wish to re-apply.
Applications for club membership are OPEN for the new membership year. Please come along and collect a form from the Club or download it from the website (see link below) and print it out. To complete your application you will need a proposer and a seconder - Club members will be happy to help with this.
New Members under 65 the fee is £65 in total (£35 one-off registration fee + £30 subscription).
New Members aged 65 or over the fee is £35 in total (£20 one-off registration fee + £15 subscription).
Note that Members renewing the following year pay only the subscription fee.
Members benefit from reduced drinks prices at all times and free or discounted entry to many music events. Please remember to bring your personalised Member's Discount Card with you. There is also a Concessionary rate for the Comedy Club on the first Thursday of every month.
